Bissel ProHeat 2X Review

A Clean Healthy Home Starts With Your Carpet

Think about how many times you walk back and forth across the floor each day? There are also times when you get spills, stains and all sorts of dust and bacteria that can get deep into the pile. Over time, this builds up and what lurks beneath will soon start to show on the surface.

Sure, we all vacuum but you won’t notice a difference in the colour of your carpet when you’re ready, it will just look tidier on the surface. I also know that calling in the professionals for a residential clean isn’t something everyone can afford all the time, and your carpet does need a good “wash” more than twice a year especially if you have a busy household.

The following review is going to make things much easier for you and will bring you peace of mind that your home isn’t harbouring any nasty allergens, mold or mildew. The carpet cleaner I’m talking about is the BISSELL ProHeat 2X otherwise known as the 66Q4, and it sure packs a punch!

Deep Cleaning With Almost Professional Results

I say “almost” professional results because the type of carpet cleaners I use in my line of business are far more expensive to buy and they’re built for industrial use. However, that doesn’t mean this carpet cleaner won’t shock you with the results it gives.

First of all the manufacturer has thought about how you won’t always need the most powerful clean possible, so they’ve included 4 different settings: Light cleaning, normal or heavy. You also have the option for rinse only.

How It Works

This carpet cleaner has a set of dual brush rolls which have been designed to get right into the fibers in your carpet, and you won’t have a problem when it comes to reaching the edges. Just to give you an idea of what happens when you use this machine, it will first of all send the cleaning solution into your carpet, and at the same-time it sucks up all the dirt and grime that can hide in your carpet.

Obviously there is more to it than that. When you want to send the cleaning solution through the cleaner, press the trigger and pass it over the area you’re working on. To suck all that dirt, bacteria and other nasty substances from your carpet, simply release the trigger.

When using the cleaner without the trigger, if you move it back and forth several times it will help to speed up the amount of drying time on your carpet.

Other Cool Features

There are two tanks with this carpet cleaner, one for the clean water/solution and one for the dirty water. You should however make sure you use hot water from your tap, but if you’re dealing with a particularly dirty carpet you have the option to heat the water even further. In fact, it will heat up 25 degrees (easily high enough for the toughest stains).

One of the biggest reasons (and I should know) that carpet cleaners don’t last as long as they should is because they don’t get emptied often enough. Bissell has thought about this and you benefit from a handy flow gauge at the base of the unit. When it stops spinning, it’s time to empty.

This carpet cleaner (unlike many other models) has a built-in Microban antimicrobial protection system. This ensures that bacteria that can cause odors, mold and mildew are prevented from re-growing. I love this feature because it not only makes for a cleaner indoor environment it also helps keep allergies at bay.

You can also get rid of hard to remove stains on your stairs and other items of upholstery by using the included turbo brush, crevice and tough stain tool.
