Eureka Enviro Steam Mop Review
Best Budget Steam Mop

Say Goodbye to Those Annoying Rope Mops

I have been in the cleaning business for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been through a fair number of mops over that time. In fact, you could probably build a house with the handles alone.

The most annoying utensil I’ve ever come across is the traditional rope mop. They’re great for a while, but I’ve found that replacing the heads is something you have to do often because keeping them clean isn’t the easiest thing in the world.
Plus, it doesn’t matter how much you squeeze the water out before you mop a floor there is still a lot of drying time. I’m sure you can all relate to this – you know, mopping a floor in such a way that you can back out of a room and leave it for a while. I’ve also used various other types of mop on the market, but they all have the same results.

So, whilst I don’t have the Eureka 313A Enviro floor steamer as part of my army of mops, I still think it deserves a mention on my website. One reason I’ve decided to include this steam mop is because it sanitizes as it cleans. Regular mops won’t do this.
Think about it? You’ve used the same regular mop more than once, and have cleaned it off the best way you know how. There is no getting away from the fact that bacteria will still hide in amongst the fibers, and each time you pop it into a bucket of water (no matter how much detergent you use) this will also spread bacteria back to your floors.

This steam mop will change all of that, and here’s why.

Super Clean Floors without Chemicals

I come across many people who don’t believe that steam alone can keep your floors clean, but if you’ve read the information above you soon begin to understand that just because you can’t see the dirt, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. This steam mop doesn’t need any harsh chemicals that can damage the surface of your floor or cause people’s allergies to flare up.

All you need to do is fill the reservoir (using the handy funnel) with water, and switch it on. Within minutes, you will see steam start to rise from the mop.
Incidentally, for those of you who are of an impatient disposition, you should give this model at least 3-4 minutes before you get going. This is longer than a few other models (for instance the Hoover TwinTank), but it’s nothing you can’t get used to. The manufacturer has also included a useful indicator light on top of the head so you know when it’s ready.

Surfaces and Other benefits

You should know this steam mop has not been designed for use on carpets, but it will easily sanitize a number of hard floor surfaces such as ceramic, marble, stone, linoleum, sealed hardwood and parquet (it’s VERY important you remember a hardwood floor MUST be sealed).

Other benefits

  • The manufacturer has done a very good job with the design of this steam mop. It has an adjustable handle so it doesn’t matter if you’re tall or short you can use it a level that’s comfortable for you.
  • You get two magic cloth steam pads which easily clip on to the mop head and are machine washable, which further helps to reduce the amount of bacteria hiding on your floors.
  • You won’t have to worry about water running dry in the reservoir because an indicator light will tell you when it’s time to fill up.
  • This steam mop comes with a 25 foot power cord which means you can mop away to your heart’s content without having to unplug it.
  • A pre-heating and cooling down tray is also included.
  • If this wasn’t enough, you also get a 1 year limited warranty.

Points to Remember

I have to say, the manufacturer has been very honest about this product which is quite refreshing. They want you to get the best from this steam mop, so make sure you don’t leave the mop head in one place for too long (especially on hardwood surfaces). If you do, this could cause damage to the wood.

If you’re dealing with stubborn stains, you can leave the mop over the top from 8 to 15 seconds – no more! If you’re worried about the effects it might have on your surface, perform a test on a small area first. This is important if your floors have been treated with wax.

Don’t treat this steam mop like a vacuum cleaner! Its job is to sanitize your floors and help get rid of stubborn stains so make sure you get any dust or other non-stick surface dirt up first.

This steam mop won’t break the bank, and it will give you peace of mind that your floors are free of bacteria as well as squeaky clean without the need for chemicals. If you want to know more, why not have a look at Amazon.
